Super Gentle Horses Consignment Program
Do you think your horse fits my Super Gentle Horses program?
Let me do the work of selling your horse for you!
Super Gentle Horses now accepting a limited number of qualified horses. To see if your horse may be suitable for my program, please contact me at 602-316-5088 or email me at sherry@supergentlehorses.com
How consignment works:
After an initial phone consultation and I feel that your horse may be suitable for my program, you will be required to transport your horse to me. I will immediately check for any lameness / soundness issues and if none are found you may leave your horse for further evaluation. Generally, within a week I have a good idea if the horse may or may not fit my program. Please do not waste your time or mine and bring me any horse that is not gentle or has any type of bad habits or vices. I do not deal in horses that buck, bite, rear, kick, are barn sour, crib or weave. I am not a bronc rider, and neither are my clients! I do not "fix" problem horses and resell them. I only take good horses.
Evaluation period:
I can not give you an exact amount of time I spend with each horse before I will list your horse for sale because every horse is different. Your horse will be put through many tests before listed on my site. I have to feel comfortable that I know the horse well enough to represent it to my clients. I have been in this business for 16 years and my reputation is on the line with each and every horse I sell.
Fee's:
BOARDING: While my horse is at SUPER GENTLE HORSES, I will be required to pay $180 per month for board. This includes horses being fed alfalfa or grass hay twice daily, up to 20 lbs total per day. Shavings are extra if you want stall bedding. Board is due on the 1st of the month, and must be paid in advance.
You will be required to pay for your horses routine health care while in my care. This included hoof trimming or shoeing, deworming, and vaccinations. You will also be required to pay for any vet bills if your horse needs to see a vet for any reason.
During the time your horse is at my house, I will treat it the same as I would if it were one of my own. I will keep your horse stalled separately to reduce the risk of it being injured or kicked by another horse if you request this. Your horse can also be turned out if you prefer a natural environment.
Consignment charges:
I no longer work off of a consignment percentage. Reason being if you only want $1000 for your horse, it simply is not worth my time to ride, board, and market your horse for a 15% commission and make $150; especially if it took me 2 months to sell your horse. The way the consignment works, is you tell me the bottom dollar what you need to get for your horse and if I think I can add enough of a mark up to make selling your horse worth my time, then I take the horse and begin riding and marketing it for you.
What do you get? You get to sit back and do nothing while I market your horse! I handle all of your horses care, feeding, and keep him ridden and excercised. I will photograph, video and market your horse through various internet web sites, and handle all phone calls, emails, appointments, and paperwork.
What happens if you decide that you no longer want to sell your horse or would like to come pick him up before he is sold? If you have left your horse with me for an agreed upon consignment period (usually 90 days) you can come pick him up with no additional charges. However, if you consign your horse and would like to remove him from consignment early, you will be charged for my time / training of $15 per ride for each time I have ridden your horse.
If you have anymore questions let me know.
Thanks you,
Sherry Richardson
