BRUISERS TRU LEO

aka "TANK "

1999 APHA Gelding

Gorgeous Black and White Paint gelding!

Super gentle, NO buck, NO spook! Awesome All Around gelding!

Check out Tanks write up on the satisfied customer page!

New, but not new! I have known Tank for over a year. Short and stout and can do a little bit of everything. Would be an awesome Rodeo Queens or Parade horse! This is a real versatile gelding that's flashy and gentle to ride. Just turned 11 years old, 14.1 hands tall, 1100 lbs. Very well broke, neck reins or direct reins, picks up both leads and will turn around. Tank has done a little bit of everything, worked cattle, team penned, carried flags, trail ridden, and been hauled to gymkhana's. He knows the barrel and pole pattern and still stays sane and quiet. We have ridden this horse on trails all over the state. He is EXCELLENT out by himself. He is NOT spooky on trails and will go out easily alone. I would highly reccomend him to someone that wants to ride alone and needs a sound, sane horse that is not spooky. Tank has been ridden for the last year by my friends mom who is 70 years young. They have been on multiple trails rides and camping trips all over the state. Many of the trail rides were up to 5 hours long. Tank has been tied on picket lines during our camping trips with no problems. The years prior to that, he has packed around the kids for a couple of years and did a little bit of everything. He is up to date on dental, deworming, and shoes. He is sound and healthy with no vices. This is an excellent all around pleasure and arena horse. Great to ride bareback! Super gentle but not a dead head. He is forward moving, and not lazy. Suitable for a novice level rider. $5500

FAULTS / ISSUES - The only place I can fault this horse is on group trail rides he will try to trot or jig if he is getting left behind and is not ridden at the front of the group. He is offered for sale because it is hard on a 70 year old ladies bones to ride a jiggy/prancy horse. - Tank rides fine out alone or with another horse as seen in my video's. Stays quiet in the arena with commotion and other horses running by him.

RED FROST KITTY aka "Justice"

2003 AQHA mare

SUNFROST, WILYWOOD, ORPHAN DRIFT on her papers!

"Justice" is a real pretty mare with a baby doll face, lots of chrome and a great disposition. Super SMOOTH gaits! She is 15 hands tall, big boned, stout, has great feet & confirmation. She is quiet and level headed, has been ridden everywhere, even around the carnival and all of the commotion during the GCPRA finals at the Gilbert Days Rodeo and is not spooky. She is hauled weekly and is quiet and gentle. Great on trails, not bothered by traffic, bicycles, joggers, and much more. She is started on the barrel pattern and showing lot's of potential. Bends, flexes, archs, and sidepasses. She is a push style horse meaning she is very laid back and isn't going to go any faster than asked. She is healthy and sound, NO vices, NO issues, NO quirks or man made problems. Never been cinchy or offered to buck. A super nice mare with no kicking, squealing, or marish tendencies. Easy to get along with. You can spend endless hours searching the Internet and won't be able to find another one this nice! $6500

aka "Jr"

2005 AQHA Gelding #4723059

Own son of WILYWOOD x ORPHAN DRIFT x DRIFTWOOD IKE!

See Jr's pedigree by clicking here!

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this horse! Good neck rein, lines out and goes wherever you point him. I have ridden this horse in the rain and wind and he rides the same every time. SUPER gentle. The fist time I took this horse out on trail everything in the world happened that should have spooked him and nothing phased him! It was cold and windy and he had been stalled after the storm. No round penning or longing, I stepped on and rode off out and around the neighborhood. I had barking dogs chase us, passed black tarps and orange flags blowing in the wind, tin roofs flapping and making noise, went by some hedges that some chickens ran out of, had about 8 ducks fly up off of the canal, crossed the bridge first time with NO hesitation, crossed busy roads, was passed by bicycles, joggers, a baby stroller, rode by a landscaping crew running leaf blowers, rode by machinery that was redoing the rail road tracks and loudly dozing rocks right by us, and semi's releasing their air brakes! All of that on his first ride on a cold windy day and he NEVER flinched not one time. He was alert, and the only thing he ever did was stop once for a second to look at the black plastic and then went on by. He has a wonderfully SMOOTH jog that you can easily sit. He crosses water. Not lazy or too forward, he's just right. Great feet and bone, not a blemish on him. Wonderful disposition. Very kind and willing. This horse will make a wonderful prospect for just about anything you want to do. 15 hands tall, 1025 lbs. $3500

LONGER VIDEO!

"Bella"

Team Rope, Team Pen or just Trail Ride!

Bella is a super gentle 6 year old mare that is 15 hands tall and weighs approximately 1100 lbs. She has a baby doll face, awesome confirmation and a super sweet disposition! Bella has been used for Team Roping and has been practiced on Weekly for the past 2 years. She has been hauled to a few jackpots and has seen the sites. This mare belongs to a friend of mine and this horse was at my house all last summer when we roped here at the house. She is super gentle for anyone to ride, almost a little lazy and really laid back until it is time to rope. She knows her job and just about anyone could rope on her. She has been ridden by a #3 roper and is sound and sane. No vices and never any lameness issues. This is the kind of horse that will pack the kids around, take you for a quiet trail ride next to cars, traffic, bikes, joggers and whatever comes up with no problems and then still goes to work when it is time to rope. New baby on the way and that is the only reason why Bella is for sale. Suitable for any level rider. Priced at $4500

"JASMINE"

Super smooth gaits!

Great confidence builder!

20 year old Lineback Dun Mare. Smooooth gaits! I sold this mare 5 years ago as a beginners horse and she was that. Owners trail rode her for a few years but have since lost interest in horses and are getting out of horses completely. Jasmine has been unridden for at least 2 years. I was able to saddle her up step on her and she still rode real gentle. She is healthy and sound but was under fed and underweight when she came in. She is gaining weight with no special supplements, just fed hay. She is sound, I don't feel any lameness or soreness issues in anyway; don't be afraid of her age she is going to last a long time. I see this mare being best suited as a pleasure / trail horse. She is a little too lazy for performance events but that is what made her such a good beginners horse. She has a good neck rein. Rides in any kind of bit, hackamore, halter, even bridless! Never offered to buck or do anything bad; no vices. The only place I can fault this mare is she really doesn't like people messing with her face but she is easy to bridle. Being ridden by kids and teens here at the house and they love her! Jasmine has been ridden over to the Gilbert Rodeo Grounds by a little girl that is a beginner level rider - through the neighborhood, crossing the streets and around all of the commotion that goes on during the events with no problems. Always easy to ride, never gives anyone any trouble and stays honest. Not barn sour or buddy sour. A steal at $1250

* The under saddle portions of the video were taken when Jasmine just came in. The bareback video was taken June 28th. Notice how much weight Jasmine has gained in 5 weeks and how much nicer she is looking than from the photo above!

"COPPER"

Super Gentle Palomino Mare!

Great confidence builder!

Copper is a super gentle Palomino mare. She has been ridden for the last 2 years by a 60 year old woman who is a beginner level rider. I have seen Copper in action many times over the last 2 years as she attends many of my trail rides and camping trips. Copper is not spooky, very laid back and easy going. She is on the slower side and is a great confidence builder. She would best best suited as a pleasure / trail horse since she is a little too lazy for performance events. Follows along behind other horses excellent on trails. Doesn't care is she is first or last in a group of horses. Will load in any kind of trailer, including a 2 horse side by side. Copper is 14.2 hands tall and owner calls her 12-14 years old. In my opinion, she could be a little older. Still under evaluation, more info soon. $1650

BETTER VIDEO COMING SOON!

"SUNDANCE"

Super smooth rocking chair lope!

Awesome horse for the price! Sundance is a been there, done that Sorrel gelding that is about 15 hands tall. He is well broke and moves out easily. He was unridden for 4 years prior to me getting him. He is back under saddle and riding nicely. Sundance is very gentle, and has excellent ground manners. Loads and hauls excellent, clips, ties, stands quietly to bathe, groom, tack up and mount. He has been perfectly quiet on trail rides around the neighborhood and has not spooked at anything. Sundance was pretty energetic the first couple of times that I rode him (possibly due to the fact he hadn't been ridden in 4 years!) but has settled in nicely after about 3 rides. He is now riding just like in the video, even if he stands unridden for a few days. Super smooth lope, good neck rein, fun to ride. Best suited for a novice or better rider because he is responsive and will move out into faster gaits easily. Smooth mouth and has been mouthed to be in his early 20's. His legs are clean, he travels 100% sound and has no health issues, soreness or lameness of anykind. He is not lazy or an old worn out dead head. He looks wonderful for his age and is in great shape. This horse should last for a long time. Up to date on vaccinations, shoeing and deworming. Priced at $500 for a limited time!

"BABE"

FINISHED BARREL & POLE HORSE!

15 year old seasoned Paint mare. "Babe" has been hauled to Jackpots and Jr & High School Rodeo's ridden by Marana Schaffer since they were 7 years old. Babe is automatic, knows her job and is very turny. Will not go by a barrel or pole, just sit there and trust her and let her do her job. She is automatic and easy to ride around the patterns. Babe is very gentle no buck or bad habits but is ready to run the patterns when you you ride her in the arena. No alley issues but she will require a CONFIDENT rider that knows how to ride and is comfortable on a prancy barrel horse that is ready to run. She will walk out on trails. This mare is offered for sale because she just isn't fast enough for Marana now, she has outgrown her childhood horse and has faster horses. Babe just isn't getting ridden anymore and it is shame to let a good horse like Babe go to waste.

Babe ran 21's on poles and 18's on barrels (full standard pattern) when she was legged up. Babe is fat and out of shape right now and is clocking about 1 second off of her times. This would be an awesome horse for a kid that rides real good and wants to go compete! Offered for a limited time at $2500!

Here are some old pictures of Marana & Babe, will post some new pics soon.

SALE BARN

I often run across horses that just are not quite solid enough to be a part of my Super Gentle Horses program, but are still nice horses for the right person. Some of the horses below may just need a little riding, a more confident rider that can finish them or keep them pointed in the right direction. For those of you that know me, know I will tell you the good, the bad and the ugly. In the description of the horses below I will add why the horse is listed below.

"WHISKEY"

Whiskey is a cute 8 year old Chestnut gelding. He stands at approximately 14H and weighs 900lbs. After not being ridden for about a year, Whiskey was brought back to riding and rode well the first time without lunging or roundpenning - just stepped on and rode out in the arena. He has been ridden by an intermediate rider for about 30 rides and he rides out nicely each time, works well in just an o-ring snaffle. Good neck rein and good stop, rides out on a loose rein on trail and arena. He has been ridden by younger riders a few times and responds better to a confident rider, who is able to ride without pulling on his mouth. He's light in the bridle and rides between the reins. He rides out on trails alone or in a group. Whiskey has been ridden along roads during rush hour, crossed streets, been in parking lots, and around cars. He could go well english or western, and could be a fun gymkhana/fun event prospect. He is a good solid little horse, barefoot sound and an easy keeper, trailers, bathes, bridles, stands to tie and tack up. He's a little watchy on the ground, but hasn't pulled back. Whiskey is a sweet little horse who would be best for a novice or intermediate rider because he moves out easily and works best with a rider with quiet hands and legs. $1500 OBO.

Horses available for adoption

I have created this section because I constantly have people trying to give me horses that they no longer can keep. While some of these horses become unusable to some, they may make a best friend or wonderful companion to others. My goal of creating this section is to try to place these horses in wonderful homes and keep them out of the sale barns and slaughter houses.

Adoption fee's: While these horses are in my care I will continue to provide them with good feed, routine hoof and health care such as deworming and vaccinations. Some owners request adoption fee's to be higher than slaughter price to keep people with bad intentions of reselling these horses to slaughter. I am not a "rescue" or nonprofit, just trying to help place some nice horses in good homes. Some of the adoption fee's may help me cover my expenses.

No horses are currently available for adoption at this time.
