Woods Canyon Lake - Mogollon Rim

30 miles past Payson, AZ

This is by far my favorite trip all year! This camping trip offers the most beautiful scenery! The rides are through pine trees and grassy meadows. We usually ride to Woods Canyon Lake where you can do some trout fishing. This is primitive camping, you will have to provide all of your own camping gear and be self contained. Horses are tied to a picket line between 2 trees where they can rest comfortably. You will need to haul water and feed for your horse. This trip offers some cool weather to escape the valley heat. We usually see wildlife such as Elk and deer on this trip. Enjoy good company and potluck dinners nightly. This trip is usually over 5 days in June, but may be extended longer!
